- If you are transporting
your vehicle for the reason of simply getting it to a destination and it
is not a vintage customized vehicle - an open trailer is the way to go.
- There are two types of hauling
companies: Transport Brokerage Services and Transport Companies. 1
Choice Transport is a transport company not a brokerage service which is
a middleman which results in an unneeded overhead expense.
- If you are purchasing a
vehicle from a dealer and having a hauler bring the vehicle to you -
make sure you work the cost of hauling into the price of the vehicle
with the dealer.
- A vehicle without brakes represents a
hazard to both your vehicle and the other vehicles being hauled. A
vehicle should never be hauled without brakes - but if there is a
critical situation which results in the happening make sure you tell
your transport company in advance so adequate safety protocols can be
put in place for the haul.
- If the vehicle doesn't
run and it is behind a barn somewhere - please specify its exact
location and its condition. Certain arrangements will have to be
made prior to the pickup by the hauler to ensure getting the vehicle
onto the trailer efficiently and presenting no hidden costs to you.
- Remember weather conditions and road
construction can effect the pickup and delivery times - so be assured
that delays are possible.
- Make sure you vehicle is
positioned in a location that is easy for loading.
- Empty all valuables from the glove
compartment and other storage locations prior to pickup
